Vintage Gathered Wristlet

Wow! I am surprised even by myself! Three posts in 2 weeks!

I made this Wristlet in August and never got the chance to post about it! It is one of my favorite things that I have made! The fabric is close to 25 years old, maybe older! My mom made a little vest for my brother or me when we were little! He his 27 and I am 24, so take your guess on the age of the fabric.

I used the Gathered Clutch tutorial over at Noodleheads to make this! The pattern is so easy to follow and it is very well written! The only thing that I changed was the length. That was by mistake of my rotary cutter! It is only one inch short! I only did the single pocket on the inside and I used DECOR BOND interfacing on the lining and the exterior! I like the sturdiness that it adds! I also added piping along the center strip and I love how it stands out!

I am going to be entering this into the PURSE WEEK CONTEST that is going on over at A LEMON SQUEEZY HOME. You should go take a look at all the entries! I am so excited.

I am also linking up at Sew and Tell Fridays over at AMY LOU Who's Blog!

  3. i think i found some of that same yellow fabric in my grandmother's stash when we sorted out her estate! i have been hoarding it for something special and this might be just the thing i need to do. it's just lovely and the story behind it makes it so special. good job!

  4. I remember that fabric! I don't have a remnant garment from it but I do really enjoy working with older fabric and saving it from being thrown out!

    Great work on the wristlet!
